A New Irish Play - "Roshin's Wake"

The world premiere of the gripping and spirited Roshin’s Wake, a new solo show, written, directed, and performed by award-winning actor Dorothy Hershman. Ms. Hershman describes the one-hour play as a simple “journeying tale.” But, the journey this story is primarily concerned with is not the journey of Irish Immigrant Oognah Donohue, grandmother, crossing the western frontier in 1864, (though the particulars of that journey do shape the story), Rather it is the tale of one woman’s very human journey from tragedy, through grieving, to a celebration of life, shared with the audience in the role as her fellow travelers. Through that sharing then, Oognah Donohue arrives to find a source of strength in our human connectedness that just might get her all the way to Oregon, and beyond.
