The Through Women’s Eyes International Film Festival (TWE) is back for its silver anniversary! What began as a single film event at Ringling College has blossomed into a six-day celebration of women in cinema. From March 8th (TODAY) to 12th, 2024, TWE will showcase 32 films from 17 countries, both in Sarasota theaters and online.

This year’s diverse program features 10 features, 22 shorts, documentaries, narratives, and works from 6 emerging filmmakers. With over 355 submissions received from a staggering 42 countries, the final selection represents filmmakers from Australia, Brazil, Canada, and beyond. Independent filmmakers will be present throughout the festival, offering audiences a chance to engage in discussions about their work and inspirations.

The festival kicks off with an awards ceremony Friday, March 8th, at Ringling College of Art and Design. The following days through Monday will be filled with screenings at the Sarasota Art Museum and SHS Alumni Auditorium. Continuing a wonderful tradition, students from New Gate Montessori IB High School will choose and present an award to a particularly inspiring film.
