Reel Music celebrates the movies that helped create the soundtrack to the last century, with classics like “Singing in the Rain,” “Circle of Life,” and “My Heart Will Go On.” This lively music revue reminds us that movies and music have always gone hand in hand.

This event features an eclectic mix of local and regional live music.
🎸 Bands will include Me Umbra + Blonde Gentlemen + Cathedral Bells
10pm- Cathedral Bells
Cathedral Bells is a dream pop band from Orlando, Florida, formed in late 2018 by Matt Messore. Messore is joined by Griffin Marthe, Miguel Pais, & Jordan Bermudez. They say you can’t go home again, but for Matt Messore it took returning to his hometown of Cassadaga, Florida to discover a new path forward. After traveling across the country and time spent in his former group, Dear Tracks, Messore indulged his DIY bedroom pop leanings working as Cathedral Bells. The aptly titled “Homebody” served as the project’s first offering introducing a sprawling, whirring world of shoegaze/dream-pop atmospheres extending far beyond its humble origins.

9pm- Blonde Gentlemen
Blonde Gentlemen is a Florida-based indie psych pop band formed when two lifelong friends, Sergio Rubio (guitar/vocals) and Daniel Caballero (bass/vocals), bonded with drummer Tito Bravo in a tale that involves a road trip, a mutual friend and an orchestra. Not necessarily in that order. The ensuing meld of musical influences gave birth to a groove-laden, hook-filled, melodic machine.”

8pm- Me Umbra
Sarasota native Me Umbra is an up-and-coming star known for his dynamic dance moves and captivating stage presence. With a style blending R&B, Pop and Rock, Me Umbra’s music is full of catchy hooks and memorable melodies. His dynamic showmanship appeals to audiences of any kind.

Event Details
With the small-town charm of a boy from Bixby, OK, the big-city energy of Dallas, TX, and vocal prowess that rivals Nashville’s best – Corey Kent has been poised for a career in music from the beginning. Growing up influenced by various genres and artists, Corey started his journey in music at an early age. Taking the stage at age 11 as the lead singer for a touring Western Swing band, Corey hit early career milestones opening for legendary acts like Roy Clark and The Oak Ridge Boys. A few years later, he would be booking gigs around his hometown of Bixby, OK and by 17 he made his way to Nashville.
In 2020, Corey released his From the West LP which garnered 3.5+ million aggregate streams and set the stage for his next chapter. His song “Gold” and fan favorite “Ain’t My Day has nearly 15 million streams combined. In December of 2021, Coreyreleased his sophomore album, ’21, to an overwhelmingly positive reception and landed on multiple playlists across the streaming platforms with his single “There’s Always Next Year.” Both albums were released via Combustion Music. On March 4, 2022, Corey released his smash hit single “Wild As Her” and shortly after signed his deal with Sony Music Nashville and their RCA Nashville Imprint.
A road warrior, Corey has been seen out on the road performing over 100 shows a year in 2021 alone. Along with headlining his own shows and playing the top music festivals across the country, Corey has been the supporting act for artists including Parker McCollum, Cody Johnson, Chase Rice, Eli Young, Josh Abbott, Flatland Cavalry, and Kolby Cooper. Corey also has major success writing songs for others including Kolby Cooper, Brandon Jenkins, Clark Green’s #1 hit “Hit You Where It Hurts” and more under his publishing deal with Combustion Music.

The Ladies for Liberty are coming to Sarasota!
Monday, March 6, 2023 | The Humane Society of Sarasota County
Doors Open at 6pm | Show Starts at 7pm
Let the Ladies for Liberty take you back in time with their renditions of 1940’s, WWII, 1950’s Korean War, and 1960’s Vietnam War-era music. Their Andrews Sisters/USO-style performance features vocals, costumes, and hairstyles showcasing the spirit of patriotism, reminiscent of the 1940’s and 1950’s spark of joy and relief that was felt by American soldiers and the folks back home.
As animal lovers who are also passionate in their support of veterans causes, The Ladies for Liberty are excited to come to the Humane Society of Sarasota (HSSC), home of the Military Matches Program that provides adoptions free of charge to veterans and members of the military! Proceeds from this event will benefit HSSC’s lifesaving mission!
HSSC is the area’s premier no-kill shelter, meaning no adoptable pet is ever euthanized to make space for another. HSSC saved 2,730 animal lives in 2022. Of the 2,168 adoptions in 2022, 130 of them were to active-duty and retired U.S. service members. A goal of this ‘Salute to Veterans’ event is to raise awareness of HSSC’s Military Matches program, which is presented by Sun Outdoors Sarasota with support from KW Suncoast.
HSSC engages the hearts, hands, and minds of the community to help animals and promote responsible pet ownership. From the Helping Hands Program, a need-based emergency medical fund, to the Humane Education Program that is teaching our next generation to love and respect animals, HSSC’s staff and volunteers and partners work together to make our community and our state a better place.
Join us in support of the Humane Society of Sarasota County and enjoy this amazing performance! You’ll be tapping your toes and dancing in your seat!
Doors open at 6pm on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Humane Society of Sarasota County. The Show begins at 7pm. Refreshments available. Free tickets for veterans will be posted as they become available through sponsorship support and can be secured through this site.
For additional information or to sponsor a table to provide free tickets for veterans, please contact Jaime Limoges at 941.955.4131 x103 or jlimoges@hssc.org.

Randy Sandke
Excerpts From Wikipedia
Jay Randall Sandke (born May 5, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois) is a jazz trumpeter and guitarist.
While a student at Indiana University in 1968, he and Michael Brecker started a jazz-rock band (Mrs. Seamon’s Sound Band) that performed at the Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival. He was invited to be a member of the backing band for rock singer Janis Joplin, but a throat problem kept him from performing. Despite a successful operation on his throat, he gave up the trumpet, moved to New York City, and played guitar for the next ten years. When he returned to the trumpet, he became a member of the Nighthawks Orchestra led by Vince Giordano, followed by membership in Bechet’s Legacy led by Bob Wilber. From 1984–1985, he was part of Benny Goodman’s last band.
He has recorded over twenty albums as a leader, ranging from revisitings of music from the 1920s and 1930s to explorations of contemporary idioms in the company Michael Brecker, Kenny Barron, Marty Ehrlich, Bill Charlap, and Uri Caine. He became interested in exploring dissonant, nonstandard harmonies that lie outside of conventional triadic harmony, creating a musical theory of what he calls “metatonality”, a harmonic system outlined in his book Harmony for a New Millennium.
He has led the New York All-Stars with Dan Barrett and Ken Peplowski, the Metatonal Band with Marvin Smith and Ted Rosenthal, and has done arrangements for the Carnegie Hall Jazz Orchestra. His writings include a method book about his “metatonal” approach to harmony.
His albums include Trumpet After Dark, a jazz-with-strings album that uses Renaissance viols instead of modern violins. Inside Out and Outside In bring together mainstream jazz musicians such as Ken Peplowski and avant-garde jazz musicians Ray Anderson and Uri Caine. His work appeared in the movies The Cotton Club, Bullets over Broadway, and The Curse of the Jade Scorpion.

Jeremy Carter
In the 2019 Sarasota Jazz Festival The Jeremy Carter Quartet wowed audiences on the festival’s contemporary jazz stage. Widely believe to be the next “hot rising jazz artist” to emerge from the St. Petersburg scene, Jeremy plays a lyrical and soulful saxophone which runs the full range from a straight-ahead classical style to a more progressive vibe and contemporary flavor. Jeremy has frequently performed throughout the bay area with Whitney James, Synia Carroll, James Suggs, Gumbi Ortiz and many more. We look forward to his heading his own quartet at the Monday Night Jazz Series. If this is the first time you hear Jeremy, we promise you won’t want it to be your last.
