Cathedral Bells is a dream pop band from Orlando, Florida, formed in late 2018 by Matt Messore. Messore is joined by Griffin Marthe, Miguel Pais, & Jordan Bermudez. They say you can’t go home again, but for Matt Messore it took returning to his hometown of Cassadaga, Florida to discover a new path forward. After traveling across the country and time spent in his former group, Dear Tracks, Messore indulged his DIY bedroom pop leanings working as Cathedral Bells. The aptly titled “Homebody” served as the project’s first offering introducing a sprawling, whirring world of shoegaze/dream-pop atmospheres extending far beyond its humble origins.

Blonde Gentlemen is a Florida-based indie psych pop band formed when two lifelong friends, Sergio Rubio (guitar/vocals) and Daniel Caballero (bass/vocals), bonded with drummer Tito Bravo in a tale that involves a road trip, a mutual friend and an orchestra. Not necessarily in that order. The ensuing meld of musical influences gave birth to a groove-laden, hook-filled, melodic machine.”

Almost ABBA – #1 Tribute to ABBA recreates the magic and nostalgia of ABBA in a costumed, choreographed, audience interactive experience.

Jazz Brunch on March 3 from 11 am – 2:30 at Hamlet’s Eatery featuring Kelly Broadway and Robert NIssim.

The duo will be playing songs from The Great American Song Book. You will hear a lot of improvisation and swing. They also love your requests.

Kelly is a Vocalist/Entertainer who has been performing on cruise ships for the past 23 years. Her last gig was onboard Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 in Europe.

Robert is a jazz pianist, arranger and composer who has a classical harmony degree from the Latina Conservatory, Italy, and a Jazz Piano degree from The City College, New York.

Hamlet’s Eatery will offer a brunch menu including Bloody Marys and Mimosas.

Benefit Concert for the Roof with The Unity Project. The Phillippi Crest Community Club is a 1920s wooden building in the heart of the Historic Maine Colony District, not far from Riverview High School. The neighborhood was originally settled by retired railroad workers from Maine. The Phillippi Crest Community Club is turning into a unique old Florida venue for independent artists and musicians. Four seasoned musicians, Bill LaPietra on guitar, Floria Esch on vocals, Bri Hayes on bass, and PJ Cussak on drums, have come together for an amazing afternoon at the historic Phillippi Crest Community Club under the name, ‘The Unity Project’. Come see a slice of undiscovered Sarasota and enjoy a lovely afternoon while experiencing the historic clubhouse. All donations will go to a much-needed roof!

Solowey.The son of two Sarasota Orchestra musicians, he was featured on NPR’s From the Top where he was a Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist award winner at age 17. He is currently a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Artist Series Concerts brings this rising star home to Sarasota for two performances.

Milana Strezevais a Moldovan-American pianist. At the age of 11, she began playing chamber music with her clarinetist father and her mother, a renowned soprano. Milana’s love for family collaboration eventually grew into a passionate advocacy of vocal and instrumental chamber music.

The Ladies for Liberty are coming to Sarasota!

Let the Ladies for Liberty take you back in time with their renditions of 1940’s, WWII, 1950’s Korean War, and 1960’s Vietnam War-era music. Their Andrews Sisters/USO-style performance features vocals, costumes, and hairstyles showcasing the spirit of patriotism, reminiscent of the 1940’s and 1950’s spark of joy and relief that was felt by American soldiers and the folks back home.

As animal lovers who are also passionate in their support of veterans causes, The Ladies for Liberty are excited to come to the Humane Society of Sarasota (HSSC), home of the Military Matches Program that provides adoptions free of charge to veterans and members of the military! Proceeds from this event will benefit HSSC’s lifesaving mission!
HSSC is the area’s premier no-kill shelter, meaning no adoptable pet is ever euthanized to make space for another. HSSC saved 2,730 animal lives in 2022. Of the 2,168 adoptions in 2022, 130 of them were to active-duty and retired U.S. service members. A goal of this ‘Salute to Veterans’ event is to raise awareness of HSSC’s Military Matches program, which is presented by Sun Outdoors Sarasota with support from KW Suncoast.
HSSC engages the hearts, hands, and minds of the community to help animals and promote responsible pet ownership. From the Helping Hands Program, a need-based emergency medical fund, to the Humane Education Program that is teaching our next generation to love and respect animals, HSSC’s staff and volunteers and partners work together to make our community and our state a better place.
