The West Coast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) has brought back the beloved Soul Crooners Solid Gold Edition, running now through November 17, 2024. This electrifying show, created, adapted and directed by WBTT’s Founder and Artistic Director Nate Jacobs, celebrates the vibrant soul music of the 1970s, a genre that transformed the musical landscape with its heartfelt melodies and powerful harmonies.

The only thing missing from this dazzling  performance is a large dance stage for the audience. It’s impossible sitting still in a theatre seat when you hear songs from top artists like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and many more.

Soul Crooners Solid Gold Edition

Audiences can expect an impressive list of songs –  all  classic hits that defined an era. The show features a talented cast of vocalists who will take you on a nostalgic journey that will leave everyone – regardless of age – feeling uplifted.

The Soul Crooners Solid Gold Edition has evolved significantly since its debut in 2009, becoming a cornerstone production for WCBTT. Since its original debut, this edition has been a fan favorite, showcasing not only the music but also the rich cultural heritage of soul music. The vibrant staging and dynamic choreography will captivate audiences of all ages.

I’m a New York gal and used to “everything Broadway.” I’m telling you that this production rates with the best Broadway productions I’ve seen. I have to give special credit to the cast: Earley Dean, Chris Eisenberg, Michael Mendez ,Raleigh Mosley II, Leon S. Pitts II, and Sheldon Rhoden. Chris Eisenberg has been groomed by WCBTT since he was young and has developed into a vocal superstar!

WBTT has consistently delivered high-quality productions that highlight African American stories and experiences, making this performance an essential part of their 25th-anniversary celebrations this year. The community is invited to join in this festive occasion, where music lovers can revel in the soulful sounds that have shaped generations. Tickets are selling out fast before the show concludes on Nov. 17, so don’t miss out on this sensational event at the West Coast Black Theatre Troupe—grab your tickets now and get ready for a night of pure musical magic!
