Watch the “Wild Orchid Man” track down the elusive ghost orchid in the Everglades, and then jump into a Q&A session.

The adventure committee of the UF/IFAS Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Sarasota County cordially invites you to to join us for our armchair adventure, as “Wild Orchid Man” Stig Dalström and his videographer, Darryl Saffer, continue their search for wild orchids. Register early through ufsarasotaext.eventbrite.com to save your seat and receive notice of any changes.

In this adventure, “The Wild Orchid Man: In the Ghost Orchid Swamp,” Dalström and Saffer trek deep into the heart of the Everglades to Florida’s wildest swamp, the Fakahatchee, in search of the rare ghost orchid, Dendrophylax lindenii. Learn key facts about this and other orchids, as well as information about this amazing and vital ecosystem, home to swarms of mosquitos, alligators and snakes, poison ivy and fierce storms that seem to guard the orchids hiding there.

This event offers two continuing education units (CEUs) for Master Gardener Volunteers.
