POSTCARDS FROM UTOPIA ART EXHIBITION

An international traveling art exhibition, “Postcards from Utopia”, will be held at the historic Phillippi Crest Clubhouse in the Historic Maine Colony District in Sarasota on January 13, 2024. Artists from all over the world, from Kazakhstan to Canada, have submitted their original visions of Utopia. There will be a reception, celebration, conversation and live music. The event takes place on Saturday, January 13 from 3.00 – 6.00 pm at the Phillippi Crest Club, 2421 Burlington Ln, Sarasota, Florida 34231 The event is organized by the Italy International Center. The responses are diverse with over 80 artists sharing their visions in the format of a postcard. The show will feature representation from North America, Singapore, Korea, India, Turkey, England, Canada, Greece, and other countries. Professional artists, students, and creatives of all types have submitted their work in a variety of media. Many beloved Sarasota artists are represented in the exhibition. Music will be provided by Internationally recognized local Sarasota Jazz musicians, Jack Berry (bass) and Akiem Esdaile (guitar) (Akiem_the_guitar_player on Instagram). This is a not for profit volunteer initiative. The artwork is not for sale. The exhibition will travel to Italy and onward in August 2024. The show will remain open to further submissions. The Phillippi Crest Club (phillippicrestclub.com) is a unique, independent historic venue that makes events like this possible and supports local community, artists and musicians.
