Paul Gavin Band – The Writer’s Corner is Paul Gavin’s project featuring the original music of area composers. A key part of the tradition of Jazz created by John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, and the other heroes of our music, is the performance of original compositions by their composers, for a live audience.For this show, the Writer’s Corner will carry on this tradition by featuring the original music of Zach Bornheimer (Sax), Zach Bartholomew (Piano), Mauricio Rodriguez (Bass), and Paul Gavin (Drums, Leader). You will hear directly from the composers the stories behind their music, and hear them performed by the composers themselves. A truly authentic jazz experience. You can expect to hear every genre of jazz represented, including straight ahead Jazz, Funk, Latin, and even a little bit of Jazz-Rock.
