About MODERNISM 102

Led by Architecture Sarasota’s Scholar in Residence Dr. Christopher Wilson, MODERNISM 102 examined the development of modernist architecture from mid-20th century to today with domestic and international examples.

Session 2: Questioning Modernism, Part 1 (1960s-1970s)

This Session will explore the early work of Venturi Scott Brown (“Learning from Las Vegas”) and the emergence of “post-Modern” Architecture (Rossi, Botta, Barragan, Legoretta).

About Dr. Christopher Wilson, Scholar in Residence

Christopher Wilson is an Architecture and Design Historian at Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, Florida, USA. Dr. Wilson holds a BArch from Temple University, Philadelphia/USA; an MA from The Architectural Association, London/UK, and a PhD from Middle East Technical University, Ankara/TURKEY. Before entering the world of academia, Dr. Wilson worked as an architect in Philadelphia, Berlin, and London, and is registered with the RIBA.
