Join us for Architecture 101, an ongoing series, exploring architecture and design from the industrial revolution to today

This lecture will be given by Architecture Sarasota’s Scholar-in-Residence, Dr. Christopher Wilson

About this lecture:

This lecture highlights the geometric architectural experiments of the 1920s German-speaking world, especially utilizing steel-reinforced concrete.

About Modern Architecture 101 series:

New materials, new techniques. New ideas, new cultural influences. The intersection of the industrial revolution, the colonial project and the expansion of class participation in cultural production—hallmarks of Modernism—drove radical change in the built environment. From Paxton’s Crystal Palace to Mies’ Seagram Building, we’ll look at a century of responses, some looking to the future, some looking to the past, some looking around the world, and some looking to the stars!
