One of the finest jazz trumpeters in the Bay area, James Suggs, is from Harrisburg, PA.
Suggs earned his music degrees at Youngstown State U and USF Tampa. At the age of 16, he began playing professionally in northeast Ohio and Suggs has toured with the Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey Orchestras.
Much in demand in the area, he has performed with Houston Person, Ken Peplowski, John Lamb, La Lucha, and others. Suggs created and performed critically acclaimed tribute shows to Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, and Harry James.
His CD, You’re Gonna Hear From Me, has received rave reviews from critics.
