Halloween in your Neighborhood

Halloween is coming. Countries worldwide celebrate Halloween in one form or another, from Mexico’s Day of the Dead to China’s Tomb Sweeping Day.

This holiday is especially popular in US and Canada.

Usual practices include trick-or-treating, costume parties, lighting bonfires, and visiting haunted houses.

It’s true that free candy is a genuine reason why a person would celebrate Halloween.

Despite all of its ghosts, zombies, and cobwebs, for most children, Halloween comes down to simple fun, and many people see nothing wrong with that.

Florida’s snowbird “season” starts around October and ends in April, so somehow it coincides with Halloween and celebrates the start of the season when all are welcome and invited to have fun together.

All of us then are considered to be Floridians.
