Event Details

“From the Heart of Philly: The Works of Dave Harris” with Hermitage Roundabout Fellow Dave Harris, Friday, August 18, 6:30 pm: One of the first Fellows to join the Hermitage as part of the newly announced partnership with New York’s Roundabout Theatre Company, Dave Harris is a playwright and poet based in Philadelphia.

His work “surges with raw theatrical power” (Los Angeles Times) but never loses sight of its poetic roots. Intricately weaving history, contemporary culture, and incisive wit, Harris’ work consistently challenges audiences to rethink some of their most basic understandings of the world around them as only the best works of art can. Hear from one of the most daring and innovative voices in theater today as he shares his work and discusses the creative process.

Presented in partnership with Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe. Registration is required at HermitageArtistRetreat.org ($5/person registration fee). Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, 1012 N. Orange Ave, Sarasota, FL 34236
